STERLING SILVER

Our specialty metal. Silver is a beautiful and soft precious metal that lasts a lifetime. Hypoallergenic, free of lead, nickel and cadmium.  It can oxidize (tarnish) over time due to factors such as contact with sulfur particles in the air, and exposure to moisture or chemicals. Wearing it often will help prevent tarnishing!

Some of our pieces have an extra layer of rhodium. Rhodium is a precious metal belonging to the platinum family.

This gives off a darker silvery finish that is long-lasting and protects the piece from scratches, stains, dirt, and oxidation.

INFORMATION

All of our pieces are handmade in our studio in Mexico. So there may be slight variations to the one in the photograph. 
As our pieces are dainty and hand-crafted, they are delicate in chain and connections. Use a light hand when putting on and removing your jewelry.

RECOMMENDATIONS

​

Tarnishing is completely natural, but you can take some precautionary measures to ensure your pieces last longer.

​​

• Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising.

• Allow perfume, lotions, and creams to be absorbed into the skin before putting on your jewelry.

• Be sure to have a silver polishing cloth so you can easily restore its shine.

• When not in use,  be sure to store your jewelry separately in a sealed zip bag in a dark and dry place to prevent oxidation/tarnish – ideally in the suede pouch provided. 

• Avoid rubbing other bracelets and necklaces against each other.

• The jewelry may suffer some type of alteration due to the PH of each person.

CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY

​

Mix a small amount of soap in warm water and use a small, soft toothbrush to clean your jewelry. Toothbrushes are ideal for cleaning detailed jewelry. If the dirt is difficult to remove, soak the jewelry in clean water and repeat the process. Rub very carefully where there is filigree.

 

A specific silver polishing cloth is a great tool to make your jewelry shine again in case it has tarnished over time. We

offer specialised cleaners to keep your jewelry sparkling. If you want to purchase go to the cleaning kit.  However, this technique will not remove any scratches that the piece may have. TAKING CARE OF YOUR FRESHWATER PEARLS

• Keep them away from acids, solvents, and strong sunlight.

• Avoid ultrasonic cleaning and high temperatures.

• Clean them with a very soft cloth moistened with water.

STORING YOUR JEWELRY

​

The jewelry should be stored away from natural sunlight and heat, in a jeweler's box inside a protective bag (ziplock). They can also be stored in individual resealable plastic (polyethylene) bags. Never use rubber containers, as they will cause accelerated tarnishing of the pieces and will probably cause them to blacken. Under no circumstances store your jewelry in a bathroom or on humid surfaces.
